President Paulo Mirpuri was today the guest speaker for the Aviation Club UK, in London, and delivered a speech on Hi Fly success history and the innovative sustainability initiatives it is bringing to the aviation industry, in partnership with the Mirpuri Foundation.

Paulo Mirpuri highlighted Hi Fly  long and respected track record of supporting sustainability initiatives, always hand in hand with its principal sustainability partner The Mirpuri Foundation.

For its part, Hi Fly airlines has already committed to flying its own flights free of single-use plastic items by the end of this year (2019). And it made history last year with a series of plastic free passenger test flights over Christmas in 2018. Also all Hi Fly own flights will be carbon neutral before the end of 2021.

Hi Fly also partnered with the Mirpuri Foundation and IATA recently to host the world’s first Cabin Waste Forum. An event that bought together the world’s most prestigious airlines, airports, and industry regulators to discuss best practices and new ideas for minimizing the amount of plastic and cabin waste created by airlines each year.

The  Club Lunch event

Each year the Aviation Club UK hold seven lunch events which are open to Members and their invited guests.  The lunches are held at the Institute of Directors at London, and are an opportunity to connect with industry peers and expand industry contacts.

The event started at noon with a pre-lunch drinks reception that offered an excellent platform for business, hospitality and networking in a friendly club-like environment.  The 200 attendees lunch attendees sat down to a three course meal while enjoying a topical speech from an industry figurehead, today Hi Fly President and CEO Paulo Mirpuri.

The Aviation Club of the UK was founded in February 1990 to create a networking forum for members and a vehicle for promoting  and developing all aspects of civil aviation. The Club has more than 500 professional members from a broad cross-section of the civil aviation community. The membership is drawn from airlines, airports, finance houses, manufacturers, regulators, and the media. Membership of the Club is open to individuals with a business interest in the civil aviation industry. Some of the most influential figures in the aviation industry have spoken at these monthly lunches at the Institute of Directors in central London.
