The Hi Fly team successfully ferried the first Global Airlines Airbus A380-841, registration 9H-GLOBL, on a remarkable journey of 789 nautical miles from Prestwick Airport, Scotland, to Dresden, Germany.
Commander Carlos Mirpuri, Vice-Chairman of the Hi Fly Group, led the flight, accompanied by Captain Antonios Efthymiou, Hi Fly’s CEO, and Captain João Domingues. This same team had flown the aircraft from Mojave Desert Airport to Prestwick in May.
With the landing gear down for the entire flight—required ahead of its upcoming maintenance—the aircraft cruised at a slower speed and lower altitude than usual, completing the journey in 2h20m flight hours.
Upon arrival in Dresden, Commander Mirpuri remarked: “Another uneventful flight with the Super Jumbo. I look forward to flying this beautiful aircraft again when it has completed its maintenance programme at EFW in Dresden.”
