A Hi Fly Airbus A340 took off from Lisbon, Portugal, this morning, en route to Shanghai, China, on a mission to transport 35 tonnes of medical and personal protective equipment back to Portugal.
The flight was chartered by the Mirpuri Foundation and is expected to land in back on Lisbon on Friday evening, March 27.
In addition to the philanthropic Foundation, several public and private entities participate in this flight.
To ensure the success of the mission – Hi Fly declined all profits from the venture and also, via the Mirpuri Foundation, made a 100,000 euros donation to the costs of the mission.
